The Where-2-See Birds website has now come out of its Alpha testing phase and is now officially in its Beta version.

The main changes from Alpha to Beta are listed below:

• Only invited members can post sightings on the map as opposed to anyone with a Google account. The maps are locked to everyone else.
• The sightings of Schedule 1 breeding birds will be monitored and removed by the site Admin as necessary
• Common birds which can be seen in any area of the map will be summarised in a single marker to avoid unnecessary clutter
• There are now eight categories of marker as follows:

• Resident (Green)
• Summer Visitor (Yellow)
• Winter Visitor (Blue)
• Rare or Vagrant (Red)
• Common Summary marker (Yellow Pin)
• Good locations for photographs (Camera symbol)
• Suggested parking places (P symbol)
• Suggested walking routes (Blue Line)
